Keeping Students Safe with Guardian
FanAngel Connect

Guardian is your message-supervision tool inside FanAngel Connect, included with your paid subscription. It gives you a clear window into the conversations happening across your school so you can keep students safe and staff accountable. This short video walks you through everything Guardian does — searching messages, reviewing staff-student DMs, reading daily summaries, and following up on flagged one-on-one chats.

Getting There

Guardian lives right alongside your school. You can open it in a couple of clicks from where you already work.

  1. From My Schools, find your school — for example, Crystal Cove HS.
  2. Click the shield icon in the top navigation to open Guardian.
  3. You'll land on the supervision dashboard, where all of Guardian's tools live across four tabs.

Message Search

The first tab lets you look through the messages across your school and zero in on exactly what you need.

  1. Enter a keyword and choose a date range — last week, the last 30 or 90 days, or a custom window.
  2. Filter by message type (all, group, or direct), team type (active or archived), and harmful type (all messages or only those flagged as harmful).
  3. Pick your school and team, then click Submit to see your results.
  4. Each result shows the date, team, whether it was a group or direct message, and a harm score. Open one to read the full thread, and click and drag to flag messages for review.

DMs Report

The DMs Report focuses on direct messages between your staff and your students.

  1. Choose a school, a team, and a date range, then submit.
  2. See a clear list of every coach-and-participant conversation, with a running count of the messages they've exchanged.
  3. Click any row to open the thread and read it in full.

Daily Reports

Daily Reports keep you up to date without any effort at all.

  1. Pick a date to see that day's staff-student messages, grouped by team and conversation.
  2. Check who received the report and whether they've read it.
  3. The same summary arrives in your inbox every day as the Daily Guardian Report, so you always know what's happening.

Good to know: Because the daily summary is emailed automatically, you stay informed even on your busiest days — no need to log in to catch up.

Flagged 1:1 Chats

When automated monitoring spots a one-on-one conversation worth a closer look, it lands here for review.

  1. Work through chats organized into Pending Review, In Progress, and Reviewed.
  2. See the people involved and the reason the conversation was flagged.
  3. Click Record review to note the outcome, choose a recommended action, and add any notes.

Please note: Recording a review doesn't imply misconduct — it simply documents that you followed up.
