Participants FAQ

How do I get started?

If you are a participant of the program, please use the join link provided by your group to get started.  If you need assistance, please reach out to your group’s program administrator, or contact us to receive your link.

I need to remove a contact in my profile.

When a campaign has launched, all potential supporters notified have the ability to unsubscribe. We cannot remove them once notified, but can have reminders turned off for this current fundraiser.

If your fundraiser has not yet launched, please send an email from the profile used with the campaign to help@fanangel.com with the email address of the supporter that needs to be removed.

How do I edit an email address or phone number?

Until a campaign has launched, you would edit each email address on your My Supporters page.  If the email has been sent out already, then you’ll enter the new address as a new supporter. We cannot edit emails once they've been contacted.

We cannot send phone numbers on your behalf, so you cannot add them to your profile, or import from previous campaigns.  Please review the how to share tutorial so you can text from your phone.

Where can I see who has donated to me?

You will be able to see who opened the email sent and if they donated under your My Supporters once you log in.  If they donated from a personal text or social media, you’ll have to refer to the automated email sent to you when they donated. 

I need to reset my password, but the school blocks my email.  How can I get access?

Please send an email to help@fanangel.com using the email address with your profile and we will send the password reset to your group’s admin to give to you.

How do I share my profile? (personal social media/messaging)

You were emailed your personal link to the email address used when you created your profile. Additionally, you may refer to our how to share tutorial for more information.

For social media: Facebook and Twitter allow for a direct paste of the URL and then it will auto convert within the post.  Instagram and Snapchat are a bit trickier because they are more of a photo platform.  Snapchat can have the link pasted in a DM, but needs a photo to be shared on the story with the link pasted.  On Instagram, it can't be linked in a post but it can be linked in the profile and have the photo in the post direct them to the link in their profile, but to share on the story, they still need a photo of some sort, then they can add the link as a widget on that story pic.

How do I change my goal?

Our platform automatically increases the goal at the top of every hour, once the goal has been reached, up to 100% of the minimum requested by your group.  We’re happy to adjust it higher for you by contacting us, or you may reach out to your group administrator and they can also change it.

I joined a campaign, but it has my other child’s information on it.

Each email address can only have one profile, but you’re welcome to use the same email address for multiple profiles and change the name and photo of the actual participant in your profile.  However, if both profiles need to be used at the same time for the same/multiple fundraisers, then you would have to use a different email address.

The box where it says to enter supporters is not letting me do anything.

This usually means you have not yet connected to the current fundraiser. Please connect with your group leader to get your join link.  Or contact us to receive the link.
